Calm Down Party

Ever heard of a roller coaster that’s only racing downhill? I’m sure I am not alone in saying that’s what the last few years have felt like…

From Trump and Brexit to Covid and Ukraine (Oh, and Climate Change!) – it feels like there’s not been a single second to catch a breather.

But even roller coasters need a break right? That’s why in 2023, we’re inviting you to the ‘Calm Down Party’. Leave your 4-inch heels and party hats at home cause at this party we’re taking our socks off, dip our toes into the pool, recharge and calm the f*$# down!

And the next morning? No blackouts, no hangovers (and no drunk texts to exes!) – just good vibes to keep calm and hop back on the downhill roller coaster.

My interpretation of Dear Future
The artwork I’m designing is an invitation card that says in bold exaggerated type: welcome to the CALM DOWN PARTY. So the narrative behind this was (very much inspired from the place I’m in right now which is Auroville) that in reality there is nothing calming about being in your mid 20s. From being at the top of your work to maintaining a bustling social life to trying to keep in shape while having meaningful relationships along with nurturing hobbies on the side - we’re just trying to meet ends, learning how to juggle all of this together. So let there be a reminder that we do not have to drain ourselves. Let’s learn to be more involved with life rather than trying to be so attached to it.
