Time Flies (Future Vision)

This song is a love letter to the people of the future, sharing aspirations in the form of what is possible. We are our “Ancestors wildest dreams”, therefore we owe it to our descendants to dream wildly. Born in 1979, the kids of my era watched the analog world go digital, technology sold as the way to the future of our dreams. Instead, so-called “advancements” have come at great cost to the natural world and sense as well as our organic connection to it and one another in many ways. A major shift is needed, back to indigenous, time-tested and ancestral wisdom - back to revering the Earth and the like. This song represents my own hope, as well as a sense of responsibility to contribute to its realization.

My interpretation of Dear Future

I interpreted “Dear Future” as a vision of what is possible expressed like the best case has occurred. Our Ancestors worked hard and sacrificed to create a better life and world for their children than they came-of-age in. As the current generation making key decisions with future implications for better and worse, our hopes and dreams will shape the future for our children and grandchildren in the same exact way. Dreams come in so many forms, bringing with them messages of all kinds. I dream in song lyric and verse, so this song represents the “Future” I hold “Dear” in my most hopeful of visions.
